Candida van Nugteren is a glass artist who has practiced various glass working techniques with great dedication for many years, including enameling, flameworking, and glass fusing.

She likes to combine these techniques, which results in Elk object takes on its own character and layering. In her studio, she creates jewelry, small glass works, and autonomous objects, but she also regularly works on commission for private and museum presentations.

The interplay between fragility and durability, light and color, forms a recurring theme in her work. Some of her creations can be seen on an ongoing basis at Hotmarks Glasblazerij in Ootmarsum, where she is also active as a maker.

During GLASRIJK-2026, she will introduce visitors to this tranquil yet vibrant world of glass.
