Albert Geertjes (1951) is a visual artist and furniture maker and has been working professionally from Eelderwolde, on the outskirts of Groningen, since 1980.
In his studio, objects are created at the intersection of autonomous art and applied design: lamps, tables, cabinets, and unique objects in which art and function merge.

He works with diverse materials such as glass, copper, steel, wood, and stone, always searching for the inherent “soul” and hidden possibilities of each material.
His work invites us to look beyond the functional aspect: when is a table still a table, and when does it become a story?

Geertjes completed assignments for municipalities, institutions, and private clients both domestically and internationally, and exhibited in locations including Groningen, The Hague, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Brussels, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
