Description
Marcel Haccuria (Belgium, 1943) works with glass, stone, and metal, creating tall objects that offer a view merging with the sky behind them.
In dialogue with the surroundings, a play of light, transparency, and reflection emerges, while recycled materials and a sober formal language lend understated power to its work.
In addition to outdoor sculptures, Haccuria also makes bowls, reliefs, and three-dimensional sculptures, in which he cuts, glues, melts, and assembles glass into robust, monumental compositions.
An important work of his is permanently located next to the Brandschot at Havezate Herinckhave (Fleringen), a signature piece by his hand: “Samen.” This is constructed from recycled window glass panes and masks that refer to the various centers of the municipality of Tubbergen, each with its own identity.
Marcel is exhibiting during the GLASRIJK days at Havezete Herinckhave. in Fleringen (Buitenring), click here
