Description
Geir Nustad is a Norwegian glassblower and designer with a distinct passion for glass as a craft and artistic material. After studying at Kosta Glascenter in Sweden and the Glass Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, he developed his own design language, in which craftsmanship and autonomous visual language are closely intertwined. Based in Leerdam, he works as a freelance glassblower, artist, and is affiliated with the National Glass Museum.
In his practice, Nustad creates objects, sculptures, and installations where glass serves as a bridge between craft, design, and visual art. He explores the boundaries of the material, seeks a direct, physical dialogue with the viewer, and exhibits his work in galleries and museums worldwide.
During GLASRIJK, this approach is expressed in a subtle yet intense experience of light, color, and form.
Geir Nustad exhibits his work during the GLASRIJK days in the chapel of the Eeshof (Hof van Tubbergen)., click here
