Discover during Glasrijk 2025 the magic and craft Glass engraving: 30 minutes, sparkling 1-on-1 workshop with the artist, where you'll create your own unique glass plate under the guidance of professionals and experience the joy of craftsmanship and creativity. Together with the professional glass engravers from Glass Engraving Network (GEN), you will not only explore this ancient craft but also actively engage with it yourself.

What does a session of +30 minutes out?

• Short introduction
  You will receive a brief explanation of the craft and technique, possibly with a few examples or inspirational examples.
• Choose or make a design
  As a participant, choose from simple patterns, templates, or be encouraged to draw your own motif on paper or glass.
• Tool and safety explanation
  You will receive a demonstration on how to use the engraving machine, and a tip on working safely with glass. (long hair tied back, no loose clothing)
• Practice test tube
  As a participant, try out the engraving machine. Feel the glass to get acquainted with the material and applying pressure from the glass slide against the engraving needle.
• Real engraving of your own design
  Participants place their own design/image on the chosen glass object, with guidance on technique, pattern following, and finishing.
• Give results / conclusion
  In a nutshell, review what you've created together with the artist, and the glass slide will be packaged for safe transport.
