GLASRIJK Tubbergen 2026 – the 30th edition

Van October 1 to 4, 2026 Glassrijk Tubbergen celebrates its 30th edition. This anniversary edition is titled The Power of Glass and is once again dedicated to glass art in all its versatility. This applies to creativity and the associated craftsmanship.

For thirty years, GLASRIJK has brought together an internationally oriented group of artists and a broad audience of glass enthusiasts and specialists in Tubbergen for several days. In 2026, works will once again be presented at special locations in Tubbergen and in Northeast Twente, which are historically interesting estates and traditional farmsteads. The annual glass art exhibition this year focuses on drinking glass, in dialogue with historical and contemporary forms of glass. In addition, there is a focus on Roman and medieval glassware, including special themes such as tulip bulb glasses.

In addition to the presentations of modern glass art, there are also workshops and demonstrations, including, among others Glassblowing, glass cutting, and other glass art techniques. GLASRIJK collaborates with, among others, the National Glass Museum, the Association of Modern Glass, IKA-Mechelen, the Glass Museum Lauscha, and the Association Friends of Modern Glass (VVMG) for this purpose.

For this anniversary edition, leading Dutch glass artists have also been invited to showcase their craftsmanship at various locations. Participation has already been confirmed by, among others, Geir Nustad, Ans Bakker, Jan Doms, and Bernard Heesen, along with more than 65 other glass artists Operate 24 locations in and around Tubbergen.

During Glasrijk 2026, internationally renowned Artist Frank van den Ham the lead artist. His participation aligns with the character of this edition: carefully curated, searching for the connection and the stories told by glass, all embedded in the special Twente landscape.

GLASRIJK Core

Glasrijk Rand

Around In the heart of Tubbergen, you'll find marvelous surprises in glass art at very diverse locations.

  • De Huyer Estate – located on an ancient sand ridge, made livable again by the Kruse family.
  • Erve Volmerinck Monumental glass art on the grounds of an authentic centuries-old 13th-century farmhouse, on the Tubbergen plateau behind the impressive Schaepman monument
  • Farmhouse Pinners – Surprising glass art in the front hall of the historic farmhouse, with a cozy rest stop as a bonus: The Old Shed
  • Canisius School Community – Location of the intended educational program for grades 7-8-9 and professional glass art
  • Hof van Tubbergen (Eeshof) – The monumental setting with outdoor installations, and impressive glassworks in the greenhouses (with a surprise). This year will also feature the Eeshof Chapel furnished with an exhibition.
  • Little Scissors Workshop Where Ellen Kleine Schaars showcases her creative glass art to the world

For a number of selected, and yet to be determined, glass art locations Is access only possible with an online purchase? passe-partout (1- to 4-day). This 1-day or multi-day ticket grants access to the respective locations. Rates and locations for these will be announced soon.

From our pursuit of quality and continuity, we as the board have arrived at this approach because it is otherwise financially unfeasible to organize a GLASRIJK manifestation.
